Sugan Ba lives in the village of Uljhawan with her husband, son and daughter-in-law. Her family is involved in farming. She has been associated with the Self-Help Group (SHG) for 2 years and at the age of 58 she now heads a SHG. Her son recently got married and when asked whether her daughter-in-law will be joining her in the SHG. She says “She has just entered in our family and is taking care of them, once everything settles she too will join in the SHG”. Along with her work she is also proud that she can contribute her monthly income of INR 2200 to the family. She feels that she has created an identity of her own even at this age.

Where normally people retire at this age, Sugan Ba is dedicated and standing strong in her work. Women like Sugan Ba inspire us to make innovations that influence other people and bring in a positive change one day at a time.
